A massive presence both at line-out time and in the loose, Horwill has established himself as a near-permanent member of the Wallaby set-up since 2008.
The lock has secured selection for every Test he has been available for since 2008, with only injuries preventing participation.
Having suffered a season-ending knee injury in Round Two of the 2010 Super Rugby season, Horwill bounced back with a highly impressive performance in 2011.
Leading from the front, Horwill guided the Reds to Super Rugby glory and together with Rob Simmons formed a potent second row partnership that has now been duplicated in the Test arena.
Horwill will skipper the Wallabies at the World Cup, replacing Rocky Elsom who has been hampered by injury.
